Yes... Utility-pole numbers are another PITA. They get moved and the numbers change. However, when Don Howe and his students built WRMS, which became WARE, there was no GPS and the 50 year old powerline was about the best reference available. The monitor points were clearly marked on a geological survey quadrangle as well. However, a more recent map bears little or no resemblance to the original. It seems that an entire hillside along State Route 9 is gone!
A lot of Broadcast people do not know that everything filed with the FCC is available at the Public Reference Room on M Street. If you need to know something about about WXYZ, just ask for the WXYZ folder. Last I was there, they had pay-as-you-go copying machines.

Seems to me if the monitor point was described in enough
detail (and has not changed--reminds me of a point described
by house description--then they moved the house)to be
located..that would be the point to be used.
