   Two or three (I'm not sure) in each market would change to 640 and two or three would change to 
1240 and all others would go off, the one or two would drop drive, leaving only one on at a time, 
rotating between them at a two or 3 Hz rate.  As it worked out most people could only hear one or 
two of the stations and the resulting loudness constantly changed.  Goofy idea that worked goofy.
   I heard it and judged it pretty much useless.  (I was bright when I was young, they say.)
