For radials, I will usually enter an end point coordinate 25 miles out
and then show the line from the TX site to that end point. We then "hit"
the line and define that point. My old Garmin 45XL does that just fine.
I also have the Garmin LORAN differential receiver. While I know LORAN
is going away, it hasn't yet and it really narrows the accuracy and
stability of the unit to couple-meter accuracy. And I know WAAS is
something of a tool.

Does the newer models offer the inputs for these same features along
with WAAS?

I have used it for proofs (NAD 83 and 27 standard), as it will project radials where you can stay on radial within 20' for as long as you need to go. It has a USB interface so I can use it with my laptop, and is waterproof for harsh outdoor use. My model has been discontinued, but the current model is the GPSMap 60, and retails for $249.00 (less with online shopping). Great value, lots of power for the price.
