For now, I have instructed the DCO's at the stations I am responsible for to have their EAS boxes email them all events and errors the box processes, print them out, put them in a 3 ring binder and sign and review them on a weekly as Part 11 still requires.

Setting up a network printer for EAS logging as is also possible and would also accomplish the same thing -- an audit trail you can show inspectors that can be signed and dated weekly. I have one location where the box is at the transmitter, so email is the best solution for that station for now.

For EAS discrepancy follow-up, I instruct the DCO's that emails and other documents that can explain what the issue is and what has been done to resolve it get printed and placed in the binders as well. Just had a case like that where I was able to find out that an EAS event originator made an error, and stated in a return email that they have taken steps so that error will not be repeated. Worked for me, and should work for any FCC inspector.

Time will tell if Part 11 requirements for logging/inspection will change, but better safe than sorry.
