Right on.
The beauty of the R-71A is it's a very well shielded receiver and would probably play nice with attenuators or filters needed on the front end. It also has a switched attenuator on the input. But I don't know how effective that would be with a nearby 20 kW transmitter.
I don't remember the details of the beginning of this thread, but maybe an off site receiver with a Barix box to an Internet connection would ultimately be the best?
