The one I liked, read about some years ago, was attributed to Turkey.

DUI gets death by firing squad for the first offense.
It was rumored they had very few second offenses.

But even then (and I'm assuming you really aren't serious), you need the
infrastructure to *catch* them. France is going to *eliminate* the source. Of
course they'll probably be the random parent who has their 10 year old blow
into the nozzle for them, but DUIs will likely be *way* down there.

I got a speeding ticket for going 31 in a 15 MPH school zone. I was following
two other cars who were let go by the cop. He also got me over 500 feet from
where the school zone *ended* and all of us had sped up by then (I'm fighting
it, just for the principle, though the way the system is rigged, I will
probably lose).

The fine was 25 dollars --- but by the time they had added on fees like the
'ambulance operating fee', 'victim's reimbursement fee', 'communications
enhancement fee' 'administrative fee' and myriad other ones, the ticket was
$144.00!!

He stopped me at 9:35, 45 mins *after* the school day began - why was the 15
mile light even still on that late in the morning?

I have my own ideas why....

Let's get real --- was this stop really for keeping children safer or was this
simply a legalized shake down?
