I don't have a stock phone around to look at, because usually the
first thing I do when I get a new phone is replace the carrier
crippled firmware.  My feeling has long been that if a phone has a
"Facebook" icon, it isn't for professional use, and if you can't
delete it, it isn't your phone.

Check to see if under Home/Settings/Wireless and Networks you still
have Mobile Networks, and if you've got any control there.
