I had the pleasure of being mentored by Bill in the proper tuning and
debugging of a 20H3 when I was green as the grass at KGRC (1988-89),
just down the river from the Harris plant. Bill was semi-retured at that
point and he'd come out when I really need help in figuring out what
ailed that beast. He was a patient gentleman as I recall and offered
kind words when I did something right or gentle guidance when I didn't.
He was around when radio really mattered and what really mattered
involved radio.

I'm sorry to hear of his passing.
