Preferable, but not possible. I tuned up a two tower array which Clarence Beverage designed. The monopole was the ND-Day radiator and a second tower with elevated radials supported on poles was the second, added for night operation.
 
The second tower had to have elevated radials because the site is in what is now declared as wetlands. The station is in CT.
