NEC-4 version which I use for some of the less complex work with
towers =< 90 deg does permit selecting from a list of soil types.
While imperfect - as is the case with all modeling - it does
provide good insight at the first approximation, and often a
little beyond that. Note that most of the FCC modeling rules
based on perfect ground are concerned with obtaining congruence
between the model and real world so some variation is hardly
surprising.
