 Since so many things are looked at in terms of what's the most
 convenient to analyze, you *may* be on to something.
 Although I doubt much beyond networks and matching ( and
 therefore apparent bandwidth ) would be affected, it would
 be interesting to construct a model.....

 By the same token, a pseudo balanced, broad banded ATU may
 be more economical, and achieve similar results.
