 So, if it would be in your interest, you *could* make it a voluntary
 addition to the log at such time as council advised it might be a good idea,
 knowing that once entered as such, can never be removed.
 Or, produce the records separate and apart from any "log" merely as
 additional documentation.

 And this is certainly my reasoning.
 To have, but not be subject to compulsory self-incrimination, yet be
 able to produce in one's own defense.

 Seems self evident to me, that should a station receive an order to
 produce it's logs as part of a legal discovery, or some such, it would
 be hard to argue that a "maintenance log" isn't a log, even though it's
 labeled a log, and treated as a log, as compared to a template, record,
 or any other name at all.

 As Barry also suggests, I merely find it advisable to err on the side of caution,
 avoiding self-disclosure if at all possible.
