In the case of the transmitter I called about, it was the poor design
and bizzare way the did stuff in the first place that ultimately
created the off air issue to begin with. Happily, that model has
recently been eliminated and replaced with a MUCH better designed box
I had the pleasure of seeing installed recenty at a friends station
elsewhere. Something tells me their call volume to tech support will
be much lower with the new model (in which they stole design technics
from a competitors box).
It probably won't happen, but a redesign of the Barix 100 series web-
server based interface would probably reduce Dana's calls a bunch.
It's not very intuitive in a lot of ways. I myself have had to bug him
once for getting it to work in one case. Most of the time I could
figure it out but I can imagine he's bothered with a lot of config
questions that are repetitive.
