[BC] Poor customer support

A couple years ago, a friends 35kw transmitter from a very large
company that likes to also sell stuff to the government and sells a
lot of TV transmitters and other TV stuff (that's a clue who I'm
talking about) decided to fail on a Saturday evening. I was pretty
unfamiliar with the transmitter as I hadn't messed with that
make/model much at all. I called "support" and spent several hours
with a book-reader on the other end with, of course, not much success.
The owner of the station then decided he'd had enough of their
"support" and called the "support" line himself. He reminded them of
how many stations he had and how he'd find other transmitter
manufactures next time he needed a new transmitter, etc. (this one was
less than a year old at the time) They managed to call someone that
actually knew something and we were up and going within an hour.
Once again, I hate to be "that bunch" that calls and has to be mean,
but when you're off the air, what do you do?
