Timothy,
In my wife's 2002 Ford Mustang, you should hear the AM Radio, it's sounds like FM. Since we are a music formatted station at Magic 1560, WMRO, the music sounds great. My mom has 2000 Dodge SUV and the AM sound great in it too. Something must of happen to Dodge. They did have great sounding AM Radios and the hi's up to 8 Khz. My 1999 Ford Escort has a good radio in it, where the high on AM are up there around 8 Khz.
I did have a Chevy, 2005 Monte Carlo, and the AM was awful. The highs were down at 4.5 Khz and there were was no bass. Sounded almost like telephone audio. I complained to the dealership and explained to them I was an AM station owner and I wanted the AM Radio to sound better. They did care, they just wanted to make a sale. We'll due to I got laid off from my "real job" away from radio, I sold the car.
I guess Delco thinks as long as you can understand what Rush is saying, that's all that matters, and what make me mad is the FCC won't do anything about this. Music is still played on AM, being old or new songs and quality AM receivers should count! Delco radios suck!
