Jeff Glass sayeth: "The immediate problem at hand is, after installing an HP OfficeJet 7000 printer, it takes two minutes for the "printer" dialog box to appear on a network client machine. Even after waiting the two minutes, the print job never starts. When that happens, the application that initiated the print job stops responding.  All other network functionality is normal. The old Epson C88 printer never exhibited these problems."

I have learned never to use the CD that comes with HP printers.  Lately, more often than not, the CD's drivers are either defective or outdated.  Download the latest drivers from HP's web site, remove the existing ones and install from your download.
