I once had a Hickok digital voltmeter with mechanical Veeder-Root type
readouts (like your odometer). It was under a table at  the Charlotte
hamfest with a big useless package oscillator, I asked about the HP osc and
was told "they're $10 apiece or both for $5."     lol
I have a HP 524C counter; the B and D had vertical rows of lights for
readout, but the C has Nixie tubes.
