Scott, you're WRONG.. I will eat my words if I AM wrong though.
Its new Class D's that the FCC doesn't license... and with all due
respect, I agree with them.. the AM band is a mess and these
peanutwhistle teapot AMs just create more noise floor that we don't need
The FCC still does license new 1KW Fulltime Class C's (1230, 1240,
1340, 1400, 1450 and 1490) Id be glad to point out several recent CP
grants and brand ne won the air Class C's if you wish.

>The FCC doesn't license Class any new "Class C's", thanks to
corporate. In the early 40's, when the old Class IV channels were put
together by the FCC, they were to be "LOCAL" channels, with powers of
100-250 watts. As time went on in the 60's, they let them have 1 KW
daytime, and in the late 70's-early 80's, 1 KW, around the clock.
>Cheap Channel, Cumulus, and these other mega groups buy them and
have ruin the whole concept of them. Since there is massive
interference at night in these channels at night, congress needs to
allow LPAMs on those channels at anywhere from 100-250 watts, around
the clock, as long as they don't create daytime interference.
>Now don't nobody get on here and defend corporate and their
lobbyist! They are the reason why the whole concept of Class IV
stations were put together in the first place, to serve a small
community and the station is to accept massive interference! That's
my 2 cents worth!
