This was a long-standing inside joke at WABC.  Whenever they produced something of a less than serious nature...most notably, the audio presentations/roasts used at going-away parties...it would inevitably be tagged, "This has been a Blue Network production," a nod to ABC's origins as the NBC Blue Network, separated from NBC by government edict in 1943 and called "The Blue Network" until mid-1944.
