I recommend whatever provides the most bang for the buck
 for YOUR situation.

If you're cheap, and "free" rises above all else, Riv is a true
professional option. Designed by broadcasters for the professional
broadcaster, and all that entails. Not a compromise or a toy.

If you're after "close to free" then Paravell Systems will supply
a turn-key Rivendell studio package with a year of commercial support
for around $3500, supported by the same people who were there
the first day, when it was just an idea, and have been there since.
THAT is very difficult to beat !

It's Linux for a reason, and that reason is NOT cost !

If something else works better for YOU, then that is what you
 should do.
No system is McSystem, one size fits all !
They ALL have their advantages, and disadvantages.
