For those who want to do an A/B comparison of coders I have put up the
following coders up:

All preface with http://barix.b2netcolutions.com:

8000 is a Barix Instreamer running a 160 kbps VBR MP3 stream via it's coax
digital input.
8010 is 160 kbps LAME encoded MP3 stream (using Edcast for the coder).
8020 is a 64 kbps AAC+ stream using Edcast.
8030 is a 32 kbps AAC+ joint stereo stream using Edcast.
8040 is a 15 kbps mono AAC+ stream using Edcast.

The processing is Breakaway home. IT's set up quite gently. Files are mostly
WAV and FLAC, with a few MP3s (320 and 356 kbps). Both coders are fed from the
digital output of an M Audio audiophile 192 card (Edcast is using the 192 card
for it's imput as well). Player is Winamp (latest version), using the Nullsoft
crossfader.

You will need to paste these into Winamp of Windows Media player-and on the
8010 one hit play when the player begins buffering (WM player acts funny
playing VBR streams).

Here is an example of what the URL should look like for the 8000 stream:

http://barix.b2netcolutions.com:8000

I can hear very little difference between the 160 kbps streams.
