I was hired by WRCH when they were owned by Aldo and Enzo
DeDomenicis. The station was licensed to New Britain, associated
itself with Hartford except at the legal ID and physically located in
"Radio Park" in Farmington. It was a very classy operation at the
time. Music was on cart. I wanted the job very badly but my mother
said no. She didn't want me riding my Lambretta scooter from Western
MA to Farmington, especially on school nights. I was to do the evening shift.

This was before SRP existed. At that time Bob Richer and Jim Schulke
were still running their FM rep firm. They split and Jim took the
music division and Bob took the rep firm. It was certainly before CBS
got their mitts on it. What once was a very distinctive radio station
now sounds like every cookie cutter in the nation. with "Soft AC."
