Since most of us have come to the conclusion that audio quality is
not what attracts listeners that appears to be a
"shoot-yourself-in-the-foot" rationale. We do know that bad quality
lowers TSL so you're right that listeners will go away and find
something more pleasing.

What will happen if a station shuts IBUZ off at night? Will listeners
think their receivers are defective? I can receive no IBUZ stations
at night. The analog is fine. I get a full pin and a flashing logo
but no lock. Daytime is the same with my closest IBUZ station, 50kW
about 25 air miles from me. Full pin but no lock. The only receiver I
own that occasionally locks is the JVC in the car. I have to be
perfectly positioned. Still, none at night.

Very true.
