[BC] BUREAU ADOPTS ORDER TO MODIFY FM DIGITAL

If our AM station was granted a digital allotment in channel 5 or 6, I
would have no problem giving up a ~24 k voice and text subchannel for
unlimited public safety alerting use. I would be happy to consider
this the public interest "quid pro quo" for use of the new VHF
spectrum.
Our county EOC, state EMO, and FEMA would be responsible for providing
and delivering the content (as is the case with EAS) but the messages
would ride "piggyback" with our regular programming, sparing taxpayers
the expense of transmitters, antennas, and routine maintenance.
