That was the originally proposed L Band.

DAB (Eureka 147) doesn't have to be on L Band.
L Band (around 2GHz) has proven problematic for building penetration.
I understand that's one of Canada's problems.

DAB and DAB+ also now operate in the VHF band (Band II from memory).
That's where the Aussie DAB+ operates. Chan 9A.

Most receivers are dual band (L + VHF).
Any L Band only Rx's would be very old indeed.

You guys got any spectrum available in the VHF TV band?
