IIRC, we could not use eureka 147 because the military did not want 
to vacate that spectrum for us.

Getting the broadcasters to unite on anything is like herding cats. 
I'm not sure what can be done about that.

I don't know why digital sells. Most of it does sound like cr*p, 
cellphones sound like cr*p, VoIP sounds like cr*p. POTS reigns 
supreme, yet people are dumping it in for of cheaper delivery via 
CATV. Based on the quality of all of these services, I never would 
have guessed that it would take off like it has.

The winning concept is "cheaper" and "more convenient." What have we 
done in broadcasting to deliver a new product to the listener that is 
cheaper and more convenient? Nothing. Which is exactly why our RF 
delivery systems will become obsolete and our programming will be 
carried by the cellular/Internet infrastructure. Terrestrial 
broadcasters seen to refuse to listen to the consumer. I don't understand that.
