Thanx everyone who chimed in on my Mutual tones request, and to those of you who either sent me copies of the tones or told me how to find them.
Big thanx to James Snyder who sent me a spoken Mutual ID, complete with three different bee-doops. Using the Freq Analysis feature on my 8-year-old copy of Cool Edit, I was able to rough out the *approximate* frequencies and timings of each sent. I don't know what function these tones performed at the receiver end, but here's what I came up with:
Beedoop 1: 690 Hz (.120 sec), 475 Hz (.130 sec)
Beedoop 2: 753 Hz (.120 sec), 525 Hz (.130 sec)
Beedoop 3: 882 Hz (.120 sec), 475 Hz (.130 sec)
Cool Edit's Spectrum Viewer shows strong odd harmonic content, and the waveform comes up as a "slopey" and rounded triangle wave; presumably the corners got rounded off after an analog trip over the satellite.
One less mystery in life now...
