[BC] Tower Location Change For WLAN 1390

I read in Northeast Radio Watch that WLAN 1390 Lancaster
Pennsylvania is going to have to remove their directional
tower site because Franklin and Marshall College who owns
the land is not going to renew the lease. Apparently WLAN
will diplex with WLPA 1490, a single tower run 1100 watts
during the day and 18 watts at night instead of 5000 watts
during the day and 1000 watts at night.

Does this mean that at night, in the WLAN null, they had
only the equivalent of 18 watts and now using a single
tower they must limit their power to the amount of power
radiated in that null with the directional array?

This is a sad situation. During the sixties WLAN had some
very good talent and sounded great.

Also wondering if diplexing a station on 1390 with one on
1490 causes any specific technical difficulties since the
frequencies are rather close.

Thanks,

Tom
