That would seem to be a bit of overkill.  My first station had Magnecord PT-6's, and the next had Ampex 600 and a Roberts unit, siminar to the 600 but Japanese.  The next had ATC carts.  I visited one station where the jocks would manually stop the cart after the spot was over and then insert a new cart and hit Start to cue it.  I guess they didn't really grasp the concept.
