Richard, I also have ( had) a First Class Radiotelephone license. I
understand him only too well. I think he has forgotten a lot or looks
down very sneeringly from whence he came from. I have and do on air
product daily. Sometimes I fix things, and if it's above my expertise,
I call someone or advise the owner do so. We don't use anyone's
syndicated programming or music from the bird, other than newscasts,
and a 2 hour nightly South Carolina based sports talk show. We play
music from our hard drive, every single song picked out by humans and
not a software scheduler. We are a full time full service AM station
playing ( gasp!) music.
Rich, well, he is just being Rich. But if someone takes him to task he
puts them on his twit list. He can dish out brown steamy smelly stuff
you don't want to step in, but, won't read stuff sent back his way.
The only thing I have not done is own a radio station, and in today's
climate I don't have even a desire to. I don't need the aggravation. I
worked for the phone company for almost 30 years while working part
time at this radio station.. Now that I am retired from there, I am
back here. It keeps me sane. It's a small town family run radio
station. We all wear different hats, and more than one at one time.
On of these days I will die.... "It's time for ABC news on W----"
<klunk!>
I have thought of retiring and doing more dog rescue.... I am more and
more liking dogs ( and wolves and wolfdogs) far better than most
people.
