As a contractor/backup, every time I'm called out for anything.

Wait for the reply, it's always there.

Briefly, what was done, and if it's useful, the why. The why I'm there is
usually quite apparent.

I happen to know the GM, and we go back a long way, so I occasionally give
some information in great technical detail with digital photos, then the
next time we visit face to face, we laugh about it as I know he has no
technical knowledge and he knows that I know that, but he also knows that I
tell him the straight story and am not trying to baffle him with BS.

> 5. what is the distribution: solely the GM, or to the PD?

GM, Ops Manager, Business manager, and of course the CE that I'm either
covering for or assisting. Then a BCC to myself.
