[BC] Gaming the FCC Process

This makes me think again of RM2493, the circa 1975 FCC petition that
was wrongly trumpeted as an attempt by Madelyn Murray O'Hair to ban all
religious broadcasting. In fact, it was not filed by that notorious
atheist, and never tried to do that. It proposed that religious
organizations not be allowed to own NCE-FM stations, only. I think of it
every time I tune across the NCE-FM band and mostly hear
satellite-delivered preaching, sappy music, and appeals for money. I
wonder if the petitioners foresaw this. The FCC quickly ruled it had no
authority to do what the petition asked for, but the false story that
O'Hair was trying to ban all religious broadcasting kept spreading until
she, her son, and granddaughter were murdered by fellow atheists.

A number of these so-called religious broadcasters operate on the basis they have a mandate from God to spread the Gospel to all mankind. They ALSO have a belief that they don't have to obey the laws of man. The ends justify the means. This contradicts EVERYTHING that Jesus taught. Of course, I also think that a lot of these groups are using the name of God as a means and justification to enrich THEMSELVES in the process.
