Waivers involving life and health aren't worth the paper they are written on.
Period.
The station was negligent by their not knowing the possible remifications of
their 'contest' and DOUBLY so by continuing after they were worned about what
could oiccur-and ignoring it.

Most waivers aren't. A litigator will find material fault with nearly any
waiver form. Even those with notaries as witnesses. A lawyer I know once
commented that waivers will prevent about 90% of litgation. Mostly
business related. When it comes to serious injury or life question issues,
they're essentially worthless most of the time.
