It's interesting I was writing about a catenary support of a tower this morning, which will always sag and act like a spring. The straightest and tautest wire, bolt, or other support will always deflect when a force is applied at right angles to its supports. This is bacause the deflecting force tends towards infinity for something perfectly straight --the same reason a horizontal wire will ALWAYS sag.
In this case, the through-bolt of the clevis has been deliberately bent by the manufacturer to keep the bending moments within the allowed stresses of the material.
