[BC] Never Mind BE boards, How 'bout a RAMKO?!

I've still got one, buried in a pile of junk, somewhere. At one time (late
70s), I had to keep two of these Ramko consoles working. One, five pot,
mono in the newsroom and one eight pot, stereo in a prod room.

Most of the flaky behavior was due to the edge connectors on the plug-in
circuit boards. They were bare copper, which tended to oxidize. After each
edge connector was treated with electro-less tin plating solution, there
were a lot fewer problems. Ramko was one of the few manufacturers that
made liberal use of non-polarized electrolytics. I didn't develop much
affection for the stuff, though.

" Probably a good reason for not seeing one in a while, 20 years ago they
took an average of 30 mins a day of repair / cleaning to keep them
working. By now I would expect that to be 23 hrs work to get 30 mins of
use.
