The owner of the rigging company I have used for 24 years said that two
years ago when steel prices were so very high, he did do a couple of
used towers.

But generally if they have to be dismantled, moved, stored, moved again,
rebuilt, recertified as to manufacturer and welding, etc. it is not
worth it.

Many years ago I had left a station that started a new tranmsitter site
project. The GM decided against advice that he would accept the offer of
a local welding company to "builf you a tower"

I think this was about 600 feet in the middle of the oil patch in
western Kansas. It turned out to be a nightmare. Turned out that the
station had to pay to have a welder certified, paid to have the welds
inspected, etc....no money saving at all!

And now they have a tower they cannot rent space on because I imagine no
structrual engineer will touch. What kind of steel, etc, where are the
certificates, etc.

If you cannot afford to build a real to the code tower, then get into
another line of work.......
