Which is I have largely retired from discussing anything remotely
political with anyone. People on both the left and right are so on
guard that they remind me of a dog sitting next to the dinner table
just waiting for anything to fall on the floor. They just attack
without even giving half a thought about what is being said. And I
also see people defend the most idiotic ideas mainly because a voice
coming out of a box told them to.
I remember the 1988 election when "liberal" was the big naughty word.
Now it's "socialism". But on the other side you have "right-wing"
which paints an equally broad stroke. And yes, on any given day I get
accused of being both "right-wing" and a "socialist" when neither
label fits me.
America in 2009, gotta love it.
