[BC] Stations that sign off

Much of the time, especially with PBS stations, things are done in a
certain way "because that's the way we've always done it".
I've worked for the State of Georgia twice, once for Ga. Public
Broadcasting and once for the the University System. You wouldn't
believe how many utterly stupid things they do every single day
because someone who has been dead for many years set a policy for
personal convenience.
Hearing some career State employee tell me "Well, we've always done it
that way" as if that were the only good reason for anything made my
palms itch more than once.
