Depending on the electric...that's possibly $10K/year saved. More if the
TX room is cooled.
They might also have a shortage of people willing to come in overnight if
their desire is to "control" the station.
I don't find this all that unusual. On of our 24 hour stations signs off
at midnight and back on at 5AM.
