The Best Buy Insignia is only FM.  I believe the Zune is only FM. If 
this were the very old FCC manufacturers would be required to include 
AM in all receivers just as they mandate UHF for TV.

I also thought the IBUZ chips were required to include AM. They 
probably just didn't enable it. If you've heard the AM version you 
don't want it pumped directly into your head via earbuds. It's OK in 
a moving vehicle because the road noise masks the artifacts. Just 
pray the stoplights have short red signals. The high end is 
artificial and the sibilants are likely to shatter your windows. The 
best AM I've heard, so far, is WBZ. It's still annoying listening to 
someone with dentures.
