make them run at 500 watts.

I would expect you can do what you want. Ask around, any other 833 
Gates transmitter from the '50 on used 833's in the final and avery 
similar tank circuits. BC-1T and later had the same tube line up you 
have. (very early BC-1T had a different drive tube set up, though). I 
am pretty sure others have already done what you want to do. So chase 
someone down that's done it before (on one of the HAM networks) and 
save your self some work.

If it's got a total of 4 833's, it's been converted to 1KW. The 500 watter
only has one 833 for an RF final. I know, I used to maintain one.
