We actually have an issue like that in our corner of downtown Dallas.
We've got an abundance of fiber, so that makes the true high-speed
services a snap. But sometimes we have a customer in the datacenter
that wants to take a T1 or PRI for a dedicated service or VoIP etc, and
they'll chose a CLEC with no facilities in our building. In that case,
the CLEC will get the loop from ATT. And every time, we get the same
installer with the same complaints about how he's been telling his
bosses for years that the trunks are beat up and water-logged and how
every time it rains he gets a bunch of T1 repair tickets. He generally
likes to go on about this for about half an hour before heading back to
the telco room.
