I am trying to give a client a very simple solution to recording interviews into his laptop. 

 

Cost, complexity and size are all key concerns. I do not want to use the built in sound card for all the usual reasons.  I do not want a mixer and an audio interface as I know there are USB solutions.  

 

I recently provided this same client with a pro-sumer USB line level interface, that cost <$100.  Very impressive performance and more features than the $500-$700 "broadcast pro" boxes.  So that is how this application will be handled.

Anybody have experience with the Peavey PV6USB mic mixer, or similiar product such as the Alesis 4 ch USB?  I prefer the Peavey because it has four mic inputs.
