Yep,
Look at a 22.05 kHz tone on a CD. Just two bits define it. Without a perfect
reconstruction filter (100% elimination of EVERYTHING above cutoff, and
perfect amplitude, phase and group delay response right TO cutoff), the tone
will not decode properly.
Such filters only exist in theory.
