Yes, g4l is "Ghost for Linux," but we can't say that because Symantec
claims a trademark on Ghost (or tries to). I understand they are even
trying to prevent use of the letter 'g'.

rsync is "remote sync" and copies over files that have changed (or,
apparently the portions that have changed), so it's good for creating a
mirror of a directory structure. I plug a USB hard drive in to my laptop
and run rsync to copy the /home directory over to it.
