 Terminate the end normally connected to the TX in a known 50+j0
 resistor, and measure from the ATU.

 ALTHOUGH, terminating the ATU end, and reading from the TX connector
 will tell you just as much, and probably in a more useful way for your
 purposes.
 I'd expect to see between 49 and 51 R with a +j something, in the
 area of +j4 or so.

 I wouldn't do both. You'll just get confusing data, which CAN be reconciled,
 but would take some engineering and understanding of exactly what
 and why.
