That's the frustrating thing about that bunch these days in many cases. I
read the book (which is, admittedly, very well written) before calling for
help. Having a tech support guy read the book to me isn't going to do
anything but waste time.
I have ran into a couple times where they sent me the wrong part too. I
think they might want to be more careful with the "replacement" parts they
select when the original part no longer is available. One time I remember
pretty distinctly was in a Gates One AM transmitter. The coil voltage was
totally wrong for a new contactor (relay) they sent me. I ended up having
to get it locally (and of course much cheaper). Turns out it's a pretty
common AC contactor. When I told the parts guy he acted like he didn't
really care. Mistakes are one thing but not investigating why the wrong
part was shipped other than "Yup... the part number matchs my screen. It's
the right one..." isn't going to help the next poor guy off the air waiting
for something that actually works.
