The sender has the option to save the file as a .doc. In the save area it's
listed as Word Documents 97-2003.
Hope that helps
Mike
Barry, do you or anyone else on the list know the extension used by Office
2007? I've been receiving an increasing number of attachments recently at
work with the extension *.docx rather than the standard Winders Orifice
*.doc
I'm using Office 2003 running on Win2000. Upgrading is not an option. If
it's something I want the current solution is to ask the sender to send as
a
plain document or cut'n'paste into the body of the email.
If the problem with *.docx files is because of formatting unique to Office
2007, it is a prime example of newer isn't always better if it isn't
backwards
compatible.
