The up front charge for MagicJack I believe was around $45, and that 
includes your first year of service.

What they send you is literally a USB dongle with an RJ-11 jack.  I plug 
that into a cordless phone system with 4 handsets.

In true geek fashion the cordless phones also sync with my cell phone via 
bluetooth.  This way I don't have to worry about where my cell phone is when 
Madame Burk calls.
