[BC] Another little story.

   When I first started in radio, 19 63, their was a gates store in Houston. Their never was much traffic in their so, they let the little blind boy walk around and touch all the neat stuff. I must say, it was almost like sex to me looking at that equipment I had never seen. I decided to by an ampex recorder I think it was called a p r 10. Anyway, it was two tracks and far above anything I ever had before. We had an ampex full track at the station but, being the new guy and blind besides that, they didn't let me play with it much. The cost was around 1000$ and we rote them a check. I had the money borrowed and after picking up the recorder we went to the bank and moved the money to our account. Well, when I walked in the door at my home the phone was ringing. It was the fellow at the gates store telling me I had written them a bad check for a lot of money. It all worked out and I did at least  1000 miles of production with that ampex.
